AITC (Agriculture in the Classroom, Sask.) began in its infancy in January of 1992. Inspired by the success of other AITC programs offered in Edmonton Alberta a focus group came together to establish a positive program that teachers could use to promote the importance of the Saskatchewan agriculture industry within classroom curriculum.  Through fund-raising and support from sponsors the AITC program became a success.  In June of 1994 Agriculture in the Classroom (Sask.) Inc. was incorporated under the Non-Profit Act.

Over the years AITC has been building momentum on a large scale with expanding partnerships and programs.  The success of and involvement in such programs as Career Expo/ Agri-Ed Showcase held during Agribition, classroom programs held during the Livestock Expo and Little Green Thumbs, AITC is well on its way to broaden knowledgeable decisions made by future generations.  AITC also co-manages the Ag-Experience with Prairieland Park Corporation and Biotech Outreach Day with the College of Agriculture and Bioresources.  AITC participates in many different outreach events such as the Yorkton Harvest Showdown, PA Agri-Ed event, and Farm Safety Fairs.  The AITC program has been accredited to the success in learning outcomes in Social Studies within current curriculum.
